Cahuita National Park

The Cahuita National Park was opened in 1978, when it already was a Nationalmonument. It has an area of 2,733 acres (1,106 hectares) of land and 55,352 acres (22,400 hectares) of sea area. Cahuita is known for its beautiful coconut-lined white sand beaches and the calm sea with crystalline water. In addition, a colorful coral reef extends from the Perezoso River to Puerto Vargas and covers an area of 593 acres (240 hectares). While snorkeling, you can admire the colorful corals and numerous fish species.
